Merry Christmas to all our clients and patients!

2016 has seen the welcome return of some old faces. Check out “Meet the Team” to read about our vet nurses who just couldn’t stay away.

One of the highlights of the year was getting our beautiful Hundertwasser- inspired wall finished. We’ve had so much positive feedback, including letters and phone calls from strangers. We hope it brings a smile to your face as you drive down Mill Rd!!

Make sure to check out our Christmas hours, some advice for the holidays & some new products and specials. Has your furry family member got a present under the tree yet?

MEET THE TEAM!

Kim

Kim originally joined Mill Road over 20 years ago, then after many years of vet nursing, she decided to go into business herself. Eventually though, she missed us so much, she sold up & came back!

Kim’s passion for animals is what makes her such a fantastic vet nurse. She has quite a menagerie: Benson the Chow chow, Molly the bichon x shitzu, Mandu the cat that thinks she’s a dog + 2 turtles, 2 donkeys & goldfish!

She’s settled back in & quickly got to grips with the technology & procedures that have changed since she was last here. It already feels like she never left!

Amy

Amy first joined the Mill Road team as a vet nurse way back in 2002 & has recently realized how much she’s been missing us, so she’s back! She’s been our filler-inner for 2016 and she now has a regular part-time role covering maternity leave.

Amy is a very competent & experienced vet nurse & is also very comfortable on reception; the ultimate all rounder!

Outside of work Amy’s passion is horses. She’s a talented show-jumper & she runs an equestrian school.

She lives in Matarau with husband Aaron & two gorgeous little boys, Ollie & Oscar, as well as Violet-Crumble the Staffy/ Pitty cross, Tonka, the deaf, white dog and Delilah, the gorgeous French Bull Dog puppy and horses Berry, Cas & Donald. Its great to have you back Amy!

Welcome Back Moni!!

Our wonderful vet nurse Moni has been away on maternity leave for most of the year, enjoying spending time with her gorgeous young son Basil.  But now we’re getting to share her! She's been back since November, working 2 days a week. Moni is enjoying balancing her two roles of Mum & Vet Nurse!

Chani

Vet nurse Chani headed off on maternity leave again in November and a week later beautiful Macy was born! Mother & daughter are doing well & big sister Ria is thrilled!

A great new product: Bravecto!

3 monthly flea treatment for dogs and now cats as well. Our clients have been loving the convenience and effectiveness of the 3 monthly Bravecto Chews for dogs, so the arrival of the cat product is fantastic news for cats! Keeping our pets flea-free just got so much easier!!

Special Offers for Christmas:

Don’t forget your pets this Christmas!! We have great toys and treats in stock  for your furry family.

Christmas Hours:

Mill Road will be open right through the holiday period, except for the stats. We are closed 25th – 27th of December and 1st - 3rd of January, but as always one of our vets is on call for emergencies. Call the normal clinic phone number to be put in touch with the on-call vet, if you have an emergency.

Maunu Vet Clinic: To enable more of our staff to take holidays, we will be closing our Maunu clinic from 5.30pm on Friday 23rd December until Wed 9th January. Our Maunu patients can be seen at Mill Road over this period. We apologise if this causes any inconvenience.

Our plea for your holidays

Every year we have a few cases of pets left with house-sitters or boarding facilities with inadequate arrangements for what to do if something goes wrong. Please make sure someone can easily get hold of you while you’re away, so we can discuss your pet’s care if anything goes wrong.

If you’ve got a really elderly or sick pet, it pays to have a think ahead of time, about what you’d like to do if their health deteriorates while you’re away.

Sorry to be gloomy!

On a happier note:

Our Day at the Poor Knights

We had a trip to the Poor Knights Islands for our Staff Christmas Do this year. The weather was fab, the seas were calm & we were escorted into Tutakaka Harbour by a friendly bunch of dolphins! What a wonderful way to finish a busy year!

Merry Christmas to you all!!
