MUM & KITTENS REUNITED!! A Heart Warming Story

We recently found a box of kittens dumped on our front door. 3 boys and a girl, tabby & white and a gorgeous black tabby, about 3-4 weeks old. Of course we all fell in love with them & vet nurse Nicole took them home to care for them overnight. They were too young to lap milk, so it was a labour of love; bottle feeding four orphan kittens through the night!

The next morning we noticed a tabby cat hanging around our front door, trying to sneak in every time a client arrived. When we realised she wasn’t going to go away, we picked her up & discovered she was a nursing Mum.
Then the penny dropped! Sure enough, we introduced her to the “orphan” kittens & there was a very happy reunion!

Presumably she had been in the box too & escaped before we arrived for work. She’d probably been prowling around all night looking for her kidnapped kittens!

The whole family is now being fostered by a family member of one of our vets. He’s recently lost his own cat, so the kittens are a great distraction! Hills Pet Nutrition has kindly sponsored food for Mum & the kittens.

The kittens will be available to be adopted into good homes at around 8 weeks of age.

The other part of this story that’s fascinating is the way things can go viral nowadays. We posted the story on our Facebook page & it was shared around & seen by 15,000 people.

They were written up in the Advocate, TV3 came & filmed the family, dozens of websites & newspapers from around the world ran the story & they even made it onto American TV, where they made a very funny news item, with a quote from Liam Neeson!

I guess we all love a good story with a happy ending!
