Didier Poot, BVSc
Vet & Practice Owner

Didier grew up in Belgium then studied veterinary science in South Africa. After graduating in 1990 he headed back to Europe and worked for 5 years as a small animal vet in England. As well as getting a lot of experience under his belt, he was also lucky enough to meet a Kiwi, who enticed him over to New Zealand!

Didier joined Mill Rd Vet Clinic in 1996, became a partner in 1997 and now owns the practice with fellow vet Julie Wills. His special interests are surgery, radiology (xrays) in which he has undertaken considerable extra study and his latest passion is ultrasonography.

We have a state of the art ultrasound machine and Didier now has more than three thousand ultrasounds under his belt as well as having attended various workshops and spent time with Auckland's ultrasound specialist He now undertakes outpatient ultrasounds for practices from around Northland.

In his spare time Didier can be found living the kiwi life on his life-style block with Julie, 2 boys, Staffies "Mbale" and "Boon", Alonso the Burmese & Jonah the moggie; mowing lawns, fixing fences and riding around the sheep on his go-cart! His other passions include mountain biking, long distance running and triathlons, good food and wine (compensation for all that exercise?) and following the F1 Grand Prix.
